Macintosh/Unix Support
TerraPhoto3D
Google Earth now has a Macintosh
version which you can find here.
Here
we present a simple solution that is HTML based called TerraPhoto3D
from Skyline Software, so it should work on nearly every operating
system. Note that we have only tested it with Internet Explorer,
so other browsers may or may not yield adequate results. It basically
works by grabbing still frames from the server and delivering those
in HTML. So the links that would normally be visible on the terrain
are not functional here, because they are just part of the picture.
In the future we hope to improve the functionality of our TerraPhoto3D
implementation and increase the number of Earth Models and Applications
that can be used with it.
Note: This
application is still a little buggy. For example, you cannot pan
across -180 longitude (near the Alaska/Russia border). It's also
a bit slower than we'd like. We hope to get something like this
going for all of our applications in the near future.
